"Caballo Asusta'o  II"

Todavía disfrutando en la galería de la exhibición "Caballos y Más Caballos"  y a la vez pensando en las fiestas que se aproximan...   

Hemos añadido al blog una oferta diaria de 15% de descuento en una pieza seleccionada.  Como todo en la galería es único, hay que moverse rápido, para aprovechar la oferta.

Estamos esperando la llegada de un libro que explora la "cultura maker"  y la necesidad  de educación a nivel institucional.  Les dejaremos saber nuestra reacción...

We are still enjoying the beautiful exhibition  "Caballos y Más Caballos"  (Horses and more horses) by GLORIA BOSA OSORIO, and starting to think about the coming holidays...

We have added to our blog a daily special with 15% discount on the selected work.   Since every piece at the gallery is unique, it is important to move fast!

We are awaiting the arrival of a newly printed book on the "maker culture"  and the need for formal education.  We will let you know about it when we read it...

Our next opening will be on December 4.  The offering will be great for X-mas gifts.  We'll post it soon!!!

Anoche en Fusión Isleña...

Anoche, a pesar del tapón y la lluvia, celebramos con éxito la apertura de la exhibición "Caballos y Más Caballos" de la artista Gloria Bosa Osorio.  En las fotos arriba:
una vista de la galería antes de la actividad, la orgullosa artista con la obra principal de la exhibición, titulada "Después de Edgar Degas: la Procesión Antes de la Carrera", Gloria recibe una serenata del cantautor Eduardo Villanueva, una vista de los presentes, y unas palabras de Jorge Antares sobre la trayectoria de la artista.

Aunque se perdieron el "party",pueden ver las obras hasta el 29 de noviembre y con gusto le empaquetamos su favorita!

Last night, in spite of the rain and the traffic jam, we had an excellent opening of the exhibition "Horses and More Horses", by artist GLORIA BOSA OSORIO.   In the photos above:  a view of the gallery ready for the activity, the proud artist with her masterpiece  Äfter Edgar Degas, the Procession Before the Race",  Gloria being serenaded by singer/songwriter Eduardo Villanueva, a view of the crowd, and Jorge Antares who said a few words about the artist and her career.  


Even though you obviously missed the "party"  you can still enjoy all the paintings until the 29th of the month and we will happily wrap for you whichever you decide to take home!!!

This Thursday...for art lovers and horse lovers!!!

After many months of planning and painting, and a lot of hard work, our friend and admired Caguas artist, GLORIA BOSA OSORIO is ready to show her latest  body of work:  this exhibition, called "Horses and More Horses",   because it really couldn't be called anything else.  
The plethora of equine images in her mind has finally made itself come forth, and canvas after canvas is now populated with these animals, prancing, running, and interacting, in all sorts of interpretations. Being as brave as she is when faced with so many ways of expression, we get to enjoy, and maybe take home, images that appeal to to the viewers for different reasons.  No doubt that horse lovers will be touched, surprised and pleased.

Después de muchos meses de planes y pintura y mucho árduo trabajo, nuestra amiga y admirada artista de Caguas, GLORIA BOSA OSORIO, está lista finalmente para dejarnos ver su reciente cuerpo de trabajo en esta exhibición titulada "Caballos y Más Caballos", que realmente no podía llamarse de ninguna otra manera.

Un caudal de imágenes equinas escaparon por fin de su mente y fueron a habitar en lienzo trás lienzo, pastando, corriendo, jugueteando, en toda clase de interpretaciones.  Con característica valentía, la artista se enfrenta a sus variadas manifestaciones y nosotros las observamos y hasta quizás nos llevemos con nosotros aquellas con las que nos identifiquemos de manera especial.  Para los amantes de los caballos será sin duda una gran experiencia.

On Nov 4, at 7:30 PM we will host the opening of GLORIA BOSA OSORIO'S new exhibition:  Caballos y Más Caballos..." at our gallery- Fusión Isleña.  She is planning a great occasion, as is her custom.  Her friends and family will be here, but this is a grand collection for horse lovers, and we want them to come and see...  Gloria is celebrating the "shape" of the horse in here very personal way.  If you know anyone interested in this theme,, bring him over...it will be an unforgettable experience!

En noviembre 4, a las 7:30 PM,  celebraremos la apertura de la nueva exhibición de GLORIA BOSA OSORIO titulada "Caballos y Más Caballos..." en nuestra galería, FUSIÓN ISLEÑA.  Ella planea un gran acontecimiento, como es su costumbre.  Sus familiares y amigos estarán aquí pero esta es una gran colección de obras que resultará interesantísima para los aficionados de los caballos.  Ella ha tomado la silueta del caballo y la presenta en su lenguaje único y personal.  Si conoces a alguien amante de los equinos, invítalo para que no se la pierda!

Cristo o Quijote?

Créanlo o no, ese es el título de la exhibición que comienza la próxima semana en Limner Gallery, en Hudson NY. Contestándo a un "open call" de las exhibiciones mensuales de esta "vieja" galería que se mudó de la ciudad de NY a Hudson a partir de los sucesos de 9/11,  Hiram Rosado, miembro y presidente de Fusión Isleña, se decidió a enviar su pieza "Cristo o Quijote" ... por correo! Cuando supo que era uno de los 28 artistas escogidos, se enfrentó a la "angustia de la separación" que desgraciadamente es inevitable cuando mandamos piezas fuera de este país que está rodeado de agua por todas partes...  Los artistas "isleños" encuentran su mercado encerrado ya que la transportación de las piezas, sobre todo las grandes y pesadas, es riesgoso y caro.  

Ayudar a los artistas que hacen su obra en PR a acceder a otros mercados siempre fué una de las metas de Fusión Isleña.  La competencia entre artistas para echar su obra al mundo es intensa pero exhilarante.  Nuestra obra merece ser vista,  Quién dijo miedo, señores?

Believe it or not, that is the title of the monthly show that begins next week at Limner Gallery, in Hudson NY. This öld"gallery moved from Manhattan to Hudson after traumatic 9/11.   By answering an open call for works that fit that title,  member and president of Fusión Isleña, Hiram Rosado, had to make up his mind to send this ceramic piece called Christ or Quixote?...BY MAIL!  After being among the 28 artists chosen, he had to face the "separation anxiety" which is inevitable for artists that have to send pieces away from this land, surrounded by water... Island artists see their market severely limited because transportation for their pieces is both expensive and risky.

From the beginning, it has been one of the long-term goals of Fusión Isleña to help artists that want to reach other markets "out there".  The competition is tough and the results uncertain but the work deserves to be seen.  AVANTI!

Estuvimos en...

...el maravilloso concierto que dió la Orquesta Sinfónica de PR en el Centro de Bellas Artes de Caguas el pasado sábado, en recordación y homenaje al fenecido Alcalde William Miranda Marín.  Todavía no nos recuperamos de su muy lamentada desaparición y siempre honraremos su memoria.  

Fusión Isleña  "vino a parar a Caguas"  por gestión directa y personal suya.  Cuando fundamos nuestra Corporación Especial Propiedad de Trabajadores, la número 100 en PR,  alquilamos un espacio en el Centro para montar una exhibición y presentarnos a la prensa como la única PT en Puerto Rico compuesta por artistas.  Tuvimos el honor de que él estuviera presente en la apertura y,  quedando encantado con nuestra oferta, nos dijera estas palabras:  : "Yo quiero que ustedes se queden en Caguas".  De primera intención nos invitó a quedarnos en ese local y luego,  cuando nos mudamos frente a la boletería, nos siguió auspiciando.  

Si tuvieramos una peseta por cada persona que entra y se queda maravillado por la calidad de nuestra oferta...  !!!    Willie fue cliente nuestro.  Necesitamos que nuestro público tenga la visión que tuvo él:        APOYEMOS A LOS ARTISTAS QUE PRODUCEN EN PUERTO RICO!                                       ELLOS SON PARTE IMPORTANTE DE LA ECONOMÏA LOCAL.

Last Saturday we had the privilege of enjoying the wonderful concert presented at the Centro de Bellas Artes de Caguas by the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra in memory of past  beloved mayor, William Miranda Marín.  We will always miss and honor him.

Fusión Isleña put down it's "roots"  in Caguas because of his vision and personal invitation.  When we founded a Corporación Especial, Propiedad de Trabajadores (Special Worker-owned Corporation), the 100th in PR and the only one by artists, we rented a space in Bellas Artes de Caguas so that we could present our company to the press.  We had the honor of receiving his visit on the night of the opening of our exhibition and, being impressed by the quality of what he was seeing, he said to us:  "I want you to stay in Caguas."  Fom that first "home" we moved to the space in front of the ticket office, still with his support.

If we only had a quarter for each time someone admires our art offer!!!  Willie was also our client, and that is precisely what we need,   IN ORDER TO KEEP HELPING THE ARTISTS WHO STAY AND PRODUCE IN PUERTO RICO!  WE ARE PART OF THE ECONOMY !!!
